The Future of Pelton Simmental/Red Angus
Every family operation has to face the reality of generational transitions at some time. Gary and
I have decided to step back and allow our sons and their families to proceed with energized
motivation here at the Pelton’s.
Gary, Donna, Sue and I want to experience a more relaxed schedule and having our sons and
their families managing the crops and cattle will certainly help us out. We are so blessed to have
children who want, and have come back, to the ranch and farm to take this operation to the next
level. With all the technology available, I look forward to the progression in the next several
years that they can make.
We will have our final Production Sale in March of 2016. Private treaty sales will be the focus
in 2017. Due to labor and time restraints, we feel that going back to private treaty sales will be
the best option. The cowherd will remain intact as they take over Pelton Simmental/Red Angus.
How satisfying the last 42 years of selling seed stock has been, with 23 of those years having
been annual production sales. The relationships and friends that started with our cattle
business in 1972 will always be cherished by our family. But, now it is time for new ideas, with
new and continued friendships to develop.
I can not thank my Lord, family, our cooperators, our customers and friends enough for the
continued support of what we started here in 1972. We look forward to this year’s sale, along
with the 2016 sale, as we are very excited about the genetics being offered, and the transition
that will take place in 2017 to the new managers, our beloved children Dustin and Kendra and
Aaron and Kelly.
