In 2014, MVS Maximus was listed by ASA as the 18th ranked of all registered
Simmental bulls for yearling weight production. See the SimTalk edition of Late
Fall 2014. Our three Spring 2014 Maximus sired heifers, and our 2013 fall-bred
heifer,in this sale reflect that data analysis. All three are big capacity and fast
growing with above average pelvic development for calving ease and plenty
of milk for their calves. If you value your production on pounds and dollars
per pound, these are type of females you need in your herd. Daddy, MVS
Maximus, at eight years old, is still here on the farm and still producing great
calves like these - longevity/stay-ability is important to your investment. Our
MVS Maximus sired heifers and bulls have been sale leaders for good reason.
This heifer, MVS Snow Princess (B2), is a great example of the growth factor
for weaning and yearling weight. Given her age, Princess will not be bred until
the weeks prior to the sale. Our choice for breeding sire on her next cycle is the
popular Sim-Angus bull GW Premium Beef 021TS for a calf born in January
2016. Princess is halter broken since weaning. She is of calm disposition and
respectful of her human handlers. Conceived, born and raised on this farm
under BQA standards. Tested negative for BVD/PI. Yearling frame score of 6.0.

Captain Empress is a long sided, deep solid black heifer that will add a
lot of volume and dimension to our herd. She goes back to the Shoemaker’s
Sweetheart cow which has produced many quality animals. Not to mention
she is out of the Champion bull at the KILE; Cliff Orley’s Captian America. With
being able to be bred in the next few months to the bull of your choice if you are
looking for an animal to expedite your program her is the one for you.

Within a ten minute drive of Mountain View Farm is the Eisenhower
Farm owned by former U.S. Army General and U.S. President Dwight
D. Eisenhower. In addition to his many other activities, Ike maintained
a national prize-winning herd of Angus cattle. Although Ike’s herd is
gone now, the house and barns are maintained as they were when the
Eisenhower’s lived there and are open to tours by the public.
