Annual RAB Bull Sale
(Following Lot 159 and just before the Red Angus bulls) - Estimated Sale Time: 11:00 am CDT
Here it is the first of September, and west Texas, as well as much of the southern plains are still green
- something many of us haven’t seen for a long time. The people we work with make ranching a great
business, but it’s even more fun when calves have value and there is grass growing underneath them.
While this market has taken a recent dip, it is still the 2nd or 3rd best market we’ve seen at R. A.
Brown Ranch in our 120 year history. Thus, to help folks get restocked we’ve asked some of our
customers to share some of their replacements; the kind they’d be proud to have represent their
program and we’re equally proud to have represent our genetics.
How the Commercial Heifer Sale will work:
•
Consignments will all be videoed prior to the sale and video of each consignment will be available
through DV Auction, along with the bull videos.
•
Representative samples of some consignments may be displayed at R.A.Brown Ranch immediately prior
to and during the sale.
•
Larger lots will be sold in
“gate cut”
sorts of approximately 10 head. The winning bidder will have the
option of “rolling” subsequent and consecutive 10 head sorts from the same lot, and at the same bid price.
•
The following pages include general descriptions of each ranch’s entire consignment. Our Sale Day
Supplement will have updated palpation/ultrasound information and how that impacts the exact number of
head in each lot.

Heifers that are displayed on the video will be sold FOB their respective consignor’s ranch.
All commercial Females sell safe in calf. They have been determined pregnant by a competent ultrasound
or palpation technician and are guaranteed to be pregnant through November 15th following this sale. It is
common for a small percentage of females to lose a pregnancy between palpation and calving. If you determine
that one of the commercial females is not pregnant prior to November 15th, then please call us and you will
be reimbursed by the seller of the heifers the difference between her purchase price and the salvage value you
receive for her.
Our customers will share their bred replacement heifers, representing
R.A. Brown Ranch genetics at work in the real world.
