Marcys 09 Stacked Lady 130-9 -
Lot 142
Approximately 20 years ago a lot of purebred breeders were
flushing heifer calves that had never produced anything. This
lead Jeff Baldridge and Tom Marcy to discuss the lost opportunity
the Angus breed was experiencing at that time by flushing young,
unproven cattle which had no production, only big numbers.
The race was on to reproduce high carcass and
performance numbers while ignoring basic traits such as
production, phenotype, longevity and soundness. From this
discussion a decision was made to flush a 12-year-old Angus
cow that had never missed and done everything right with
production and phenotype. Thus, the beginning of the Stacked
Lady cow family from the elite female Thomas Stacked Lady 6145,
the foundation AAR New Trend cow behind all the Stacked Ladys
at Marcy Cattle Company.
