To commemorate the lives of two recently departed members of the Brangus and Red Brangus Families, the IRBBA Memorial Scholarship Foundation is announcing Memorial Funds that
will allow their memories to live on.
The family of Don Jobes has established the "
Don Jobes Legacy Scholarship.
" The Scholarship will be awarded each spring to a deserving High School Senior or College Student who
exemplifies the passion and dedication to the Livestock Industry that Mr. Jobes had his entire life.
The "
Marcos Borges III Memorial Fund
" has been established to honor the life of Marcos and the significance that the Borges family has for Red Brangus and Brangus breeders around
the world. Marcos was a vibrant, outgoing young man with a passion and talent for soccer. He excelled in academics and athletics. Growing up on OB Ranch and MBJ Ranch, he shared his
father's dedication for the cattle industry, with a keen appreciation for his family's legacy from Brazil to their home in Wharton.
Donations to both Memorial Funds may be sent to the:

Death is not final.
Death is nothing, I have only moved to the room next door.
I am I, you are you.
What we are, the one for the other, we will continue being.
Call me by the name you have always called me.
Speak to me as you have always done.
Don’t use a different tone. Don’t take an on a sad and solemn air.
Continue to laugh about what we used to laugh at together.
Pray, smile, think of me.
Let my name be pronounced as it always has been, without emphasis of any kind,
without any sign of shadows.
Life is what it has always been. The thread has not been cut.
Why should I not remain in your mind? Only because I am out of your sight?
I shall wait for you; I’m not far away, just on the other side of the road.
You see me? All is well.
Do not cry if you loved me. If you only knew the gift that is God and what
Heaven really is! If you could hear the chant of the Angels and see me in their midst!
If you could see with your own eyes, the horizons, the eternal fields and
the new paths that I cross! If only for an instant if you could contemplate, as I do,
the beauty before which all other beauties pale!
Believe me: When death comes to break your ties as it has broken the ties that chained me,
and when on the day that God has fixed and knows, your soul will
come to this Heaven to which mine has preceded you,
on that day you will see again the one who loves you and who will always love you,
and you will find his heart with all its tenderness purified.
You will see me again, but transfigured and happy, not awaiting death any more,
but advancing with you over the new paths of Light and of Life,
drinking with euphoria, at God’s feet, a nectar of which no one will ever be sated.

In ever-loving memory of Marcos Machado Borges III
2003-2015
Marcos Borges III made us all proud to know him and watch him grow
up. He was very smart, had a great personality and was an extremely tal-
ented athlete. I have told many people he is now playing on the best
Soccer Team in the World, his heavenly team. I know all his new team-
mates loved him like we did and someday we will watch him play with
the best. I know he made his family proud because he knew the impor-
tance of the Borges heritage. When we were around Marcos III it gave us
a glimpse of his father, Marcos Jr. in his younger days. Full of fun, spir-
it and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed but we know God
needed him early and as he had told his Dad, he was very happy he had
accomplished many of his goals
in life. Marcos III, we plan on
seeing you again so until then
watch over your loved ones.
