Welcome to the York Creek Red Angus Production Sale!
Kaye and I are very excited to be involved with Grant and Kurt Potadle and the
York Creek Red Angus program! We think you will be impressed with the genetics
offered within the pages of this catalog. They have aggressively sought out some of
the top Red Angus genetics in the world from breeders who are highly respected in
the breed to build their cow herd. This is your opportunity to capitalize on their years
of work and investment.
If you are new to the Red Angus breed, we would first like to welcome you to
a great breed of cattle. They are exceptionally friendly to use in a wide variety of
breeding programs and very commercially acceptable. The breed has over the years
excelled in calving ease, maternal, growth and carcass traits. In a 3 year unbiased
test performed by Superior Livestock Auctions, Red Angus sired calves outsold
all other breeds and crossbreds by a margin of $2.00 to $4.00 a hundred weight.
Those figures include Black Angus sired cattle, English X Continental cattle as well
as straight bred English sired cattle. If you’re not already on board with the “Big Red
Machine” of Red Angus cattle, now is the time to join in. Who in the cattle business
wouldn’t want an added $2 to $4 a hundred weight when all they have to do is make
the move to a Red Angus bull battery in their herd.
We would like to encourage you to study the lots listed on the following pages
and select the genetics that will work the best for you in your breeding program.
If you have specific questions about any of the lots listed, please feel free to give
Grant, Kurt or myself a call and we will be happy to answer any questions you may
have. If you cannot be in attendance at the sale you can certainly leave an absentee
bid with me and rest assured all bids will be held in the strictest of confidence as you
have come to expect from us. The sale will also be broadcast live online on
DVAuction for your convenience. As with any auction we manage, we will have a
trailer in tow with us and can assist you in transporting your selections as needed.
The York Creek crew will also be delivering bulls with the first 250 miles free of
charge.They will also keep your bulls up until April 1st if that works better for you.
