This group of 10 commercial bred heifers are representative of
what and how our program produces. They are indicative of
what kind of females are suited to the local environment, and are
bred for maternal performance and function.
These females were selected as younger females that were not
old enough to offer a year ago as commercial opens, but still
worthy of making quality replacements, just calving at a later
date.
The heifers were synchronized and A.I. bred on 7/13/15 to make
for about a middle third of April calving date. The sire used was
YCC A A R Catalyst 305A which has worked well as a calving
ease sire with a CED of +14 and a BW of -1.
