LIVESTOCK SALES TERMS and CONDITIONS
TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash. Checks are accepted. Settlement must be made with the clerk immedi-
ately after the sale before the animal can be released. No animal will be let off the premises until a paid receipt
for that animal is shown to the Barn Marshall.
BUYER NUMBERS: You must register in the sale ring prior to a sale or at the Watertown Area Chamber of
Commerce booth to receive a buyer number. This number will be yours for the entire week. You must present
a valid driver’s license or some form of picture identification with a current address to receive a buyer number.
DISPUTES: All disputes as to bids and bidder shall be final and shall bind both consignor and purchaser to the
announcement of sale and sale price.
LIABILITY: Each animal will be the buyer’s risk as soon as sold, and settlement must be made at the
completion of the sale. Insurance on the animal is the liability of the buyer upon sale and settlement. All
persons attending these sales do so at their own risk. The Breed Associations, sale managers, directors, clerk and
Farm Show Committee, assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for their safety or the behavior of the animals.
HEALTH: All cattle will be accompanied by proper health certificates for immediate shipment.
REGISTRATION AND TRANSFER: All cattle sell with registration certificate, and will be transferred to new
owner in accordance with the National Breed Association.
BREEDERS’ GUARANTEE: All animals sold are guaranteed breeders by the owner. Females in calf are consid-
ered breeders without further guarantee. Each owner accepts the responsibility of guarantee of his own cattle,
and has the privilege of giving additional guarantee on his cattle at the time of their sale in the auction ring. All
complaints regarding breeding difficulties must be reported in writing by the buyer within the time limit of the
respective Breed Association, and any animal returned must be free from disease and in good condition.
BUYERS UNABLE TO ATTEND: Buyers unable to attend may send their bids or buying instructions to the sale
manager or auctioneer prior to the sale. There will be a phone in the ring during the sale and the sale number
will be 605-882-6303. Real-time live auction video broadcasts will be held for each sale through
com. Online buyers are responsible for making payment and transportation arrangements with consignors and/
or breed managers.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction box will take precedence over the printed matter in this
catalog.
