IN THE LEGISLATURE…
Legislative and regulatory threats to the deer industry are ever-present. TDA continues to work with legislators and others groups
in Austin to promote deer ranching, to defend landowners’ ability to manage their resources, and to preserve hunters’ freedom of
choice. TDA is the leadin voice t the State Capitol defending our industry. We seek to educate legislators that innovative deer
management is a proven solution for landowners, while promoting conservation and helping preserve our hunting heritage. With
our recently opened Austin Legislative office, TDA stands ready to work for you in this legislative session.
Since our founding in 1999, the Texas Deer Association has been the state’s leader in
promoting and caring for the welfare and health of Texas deer herds, seeking to improve
both deer quality and the deer hunting experience in Texas. As the unified voice of deer
enthusiasts throughout the state, we have worked to educate our membership and unite
them around a common goal: to promote innovative, effective and ethical management
techniques that increase both the quality and the quantity of Texas deer herds.
What began as a small organization of dedicated conservationists has grown into the
state’s leader in protecting the rights of private property owners and the freedom and
opportunity for Texas hunters. TDA remains dedicated to our mission—recognizing that
hunting and wildlife management are lifelong enterprises—as we advocate for wise
management practices, utilizing research and technology in improvements our state’s
deer herds.

The Texas Deer Association is a staunch defender of private
property rights, and the TDA will always fight so your land remains
YOUR
land. The TDA is the state’s largest wildlife association to
support a hunter’s individual freedom of choice, and we will always work
to ensure Texans have the liberty to choose how and where to hunt.
IN THE COMMUNITY…
Today, the Texas Deer Association represents thousands of families across Texas and
reaches into every corner of the state: from our origins in San Antonio, to our Austin
Legislative office, to the numerous auctions, regional meetings and events we host annually
that benefit local communities. Veterans, youth, disabled hunters and many others have
benefitted from the generosity of charitable opportunities provided by TDA members. We remain
committed to our educational mission, hosting events, seminars, and activities. TDA proudly hosts
the largest deer event in Texas, attracting thousands of deer enthusiasts from across the country.
We look forward to the future, as we continue working toward better conservation, appropriate
regulations, and improving the overall quality of deer herds in Texas.
