Welcome to the Inaugural Stockmen’s Choice Female Sale. I will start by saying that I am thrilled to be a
part of this sale as it allows me to work with a great group of cattlemen once again. The consignors of this
year’s sale have really dug deep into their herds, and have afforded us an opportunity to offer an outstanding
set of genetics. All of the cattle in this sale carry genetics from the Mound Creek Ranches and Blackwater
Cattle Company programs. These genetics have proven their value to the commercial producer time and
time again. We are grateful that after long consideration, this group of progressive Brangus breeders have
decided to offer up some of the sisters, mothers, as well as the service to some of the most sought after
Brangus genetics in the country.
The donor and mature female selection in this year’s sale runs deep. We have multiple daughters from some
of the most highly valued females to sell in recent times through the Mound Creek and Blackwater sale
rings. The bred heifers represent the first opportunity to buy progeny from some of the most exciting young
sires in the breed. Finally, the open and exposed heifers are as good as you will find anywhere. Juniors take
a closer look at these open heifers; they will compete at any level. As many of you know, these genetics,
especially in this quantity have never offered up before. This is the MUST ATTEND event for 2016!
I do want to briefly answer a question that I’m sure has crossed many of your minds already: “Who is Allied
Genetic Resources and what are they doing in the Brangus Breed?” We are a customer service business
that provides a broad selection of services, such as feeder calf marketing, seedstock procurement, herd con-
sulting and sales management primary to our 70+ owners from coast to coast. Our ownership group alone
will market over 8000 bulls in 2016, and we strategically partner with industry leaders in animal health, beef
nutrition and semen distribution. Currently, we own or market semen on a handful of Brangus bulls, and we
