Residual Feed Intake is a measurement based on what we would have predicted the bull to have to eat to meet
its energy requirements compared to his actual intake. An RFI of 0 means that the bull’s intake was as predicted
(average). An RFI that is negative (-) means that the bull’s intake was less than predicted and the bull is more energy
efficient. An RFI that is positive (+) means that the bull’s intake was greater than predicted and is not as energy
efficient.
