Kodiak has established himself as one of the leading sires in the Angus
industry today…he is a proven herd sire that consistently produces
the cow man’s kind and does so without sacrificing phenotype and
eye appeal. Kodiak sold for $45,000 for ½ interest and his progeny
have consistently topped sales as recently as Feb 19, 2015, where
a Kodiak grandson went through the sale ring at Krebs Ranch, NE
for $120,000. Many progeny have sold with hi-lites being HF Tiger
5T for $52,000 for ½ interest, HF El Tigre 28U for $82,500.00 for
½ interest and HF Erica 26T for $20,000. His progeny still demand
a premium. At the 2009 World Angus Forum, Kodiak was awarded
“Premier Sire” of the show and his son HF Tiger 5T was the Grand
Champion Bull. Yet another accomplishment was when the Grand
Champion Pen of Bulls at the National Western Stock Show 2010 in
Denver was won with Kodiak sired bulls.
Cows bred to Kodiak typically calve 5 to 10 days early, have low birth
weights and wean heavy. His daughters have awesome udders with
tight attachment, small teats and longevity to burn. There is a reason
Kodiak is so popular today.
