Dear Cattlemen,
We have had many things to celebrate here at the ranch in the last year-
growing families, a new marriage, good health, and a successful first annual
bull sale. The KW team is excited to see what this new year has to offer.
We are pleased to invite you to our 2nd annual bull sale, which will be held
Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Our bulls are developed in large, rocky traps on a high
roughage diet; we have little tolerance for cattle that require special attention.
We have rigorously culled for docility, structural correctness, and overall
performance. Many of the bulls offered in the spring sale are a direct result of
KW’s own group of elite donor cows paired with some of the breed’s most well-
known and proven sires. We think this is an exciting set of bulls and believe their
genetic values and phenotype will excite you too.
We have had remarkable results by “stacking the deck” generations-
deep to ensure there are fewer genetic surprises. Zoetis’ HD 50K has
been a tremendous tool to help improve accuracies and predictability of our
young heifers and bulls. Our goal at KW Cattle is to raise sound breeding
animals that will enhance your herd and ultimately lead to higher profits. This
year we decided to put our genetics to the test by feeding out a pen of our
registered animals at Shaw Feedyard in Ashland, KS. We were reassured by the
results as they proved we are on the right track; we plan to collect more data in
the future.
