Let this letter be your personal invitation to the Annual Doug Booth Family Angus Performance
Bull Sale on February 16, 2016 at Torrington Livestock Markets in Torrington, Wyoming. We are
excited to offer this set of bulls because we believe that this group is as good as ever, but deeper than
ever. We’re certain that this is the deepest, strongest, most complete, and uniform set of bulls we have
ever offered. Study their EPD’s and you will see that they are very complete from birth to yearling,
maternally and going on to carcass traits. We are very pleased with the genetic make-up and the
phenotype that these bulls possess. As one can see by their EPD’s, we don’t sacrifice any area as these
bulls excel in most. As always, we have selected and used sires that possess economically important
traits for the most critical commercial cattleperson.
The sale consists of a high percentage of bulls suited for virgin heifers, and a powerful set of bull
selected for use on your cows. There are also 7 SimAngus bulls in the sale that are extremely good
in their own right if you are looking for a little more hybrid vigor. All bulls are fed here at the ranch.
Their growing ration consists of a mixture of ground hay, ground straw, silage, wet beet pulp, corn, and
mineral package.
Over the last year we have seen the extremes in moisture, prices for calves and fats, and a reduced
feed cost price. What will the future hold no one knows for sure, but it sure will be a ride to be on.
You are invited to see the bulls in person. Words and pictures only tell part of the story. The bulls
will speak for themselves. Feel free to stop by and view these bulls at the ranch if you are in the area.
We hope to see you on Feb. 16, and set your cowherd up for the future with bulls from our sale.
As we get prepared for this sale, we have DNA tested all Angus bulls to analyze their genetic make-
up using the Pfizer 50K test. This test has shown that our bulls are as powerful and explosive as we
thought they were from their EPD’s. By using this test it has enhanced there EPD’s to more accurately
measure their genetic make-up and avoid some risk for you to use these bulls on virgin heifers.
For something new this year we are broadcasting the sale on DVAUCTION.COM. This allows you to
view the bull’s video that is taken in mid-January before the sale and bid on that site if you are not able
to make it to the sale.
