Greetings from the crew at Bar CK...
...we would like to invite you to the 3rd annual “Profit Sharing Cattle Sale” to be held at the Bar CK Ranch on
February 15, 2015. This year we are offering a tremendous set of bulls “Bred for Profit and Raised to Work”, and
are selling 60 females out of the heart of our Fall calving program. We have made a concerted effort to step up
the female offering this year. These cattle offer progressive changes to any cow herd looking to increase profit
with genetics that are some the highest profit indexing cattle in existence. They will also increase heterosis and
uniformity simultaneously.
The vast majority of these age advantage bulls have calving ease and birth weight EPD’s safe to use on English
heifers. Additionally, these cattle will qualify for natural marketing programs and because they are loaded with
carcass traits, they fit nicely in quality grids and products lines such as CAB. Martha Thode, Burnt Ridge Ranch,
Onalaska, WA experienced such carcass value firsthand - below she shares her experience with a Bar CK bull...
We thank Martha and ranchers like her who trust us to be their seedstock supplier. Folks, it is comments like
Martha’s that truly make all the hard work and effort worthwhile. Truthfully, that is why we do what we do at
Bar CK.
If you can, come early. The cattle will be available
for viewing all day Friday and we will serve food
and beverages for a Valentine dinner. Rancher and
Livestock Representatives will be on hand to give
expert advice on how to best utilize marketing pro-
grams, cross breeding, and whole life cycle
profit EPDs.
Take care,
Mike
“...I bought a Bar CK MR Vision 401S son, 218X. I liked his conformation, marbling (.46 EPD) and calving ease (18 EPD).
Last year, I sent 13 of his calves to the feedlot; one graded Prime and twelve graded Choice. Can’t ask for anything better than
that! The live weights averaged 1435 lbs and the hanging weights averaged 885 lbs, with 3 yield grade 1s, 5 yield grade 2s
and 5 yield grade 3s - [no YG 4’s or 5’s].
I had calves from six bulls in the feedlot. The calves sired by my Red Angus bull graded 69% choice. The calves out of the
other four Simmental bulls ranged from 54% to 60% choice. Needless to say we are happy with our Bar CK bull!
We kept 20 replacement heifers this year and nine of them are sired by 218X. They were picked out of the herd on a
conformation basis - without looking at their pedigree. Their APIs average 129. Think they will be a good addition to
our herd. Thanks Mike & Margo.”
