Welcome to the 2nd annual Solid Rock Angus production sale! We were blessed to have
an outstanding inaugural event last fall and we deeply appreciate you, our customers and
friends, for helping us achieve this.
Once again we have a very stout set of young females with super calves at side. These
calves are sired by industry leading bulls such as Quaker Hill Rampage 0A36, Connealy
Black Granite, as well as some of the first calves by WR Journey 1X74, Myers Keystone
M263, and Deer Valley Old Hickory.
In the fall of 2014 we were fortunate enough to purchase Old Hickory’s flush sister,
Rita 4147. Deer Valley Rita 4147 is leading off the sale with a heifer calf pregnancy due in
February 2017 by EF Commando 1366, as well as her frozen embryos by Rampage and
HA Cowboy Up 5405.
SRA Rita 4044, our 2015 sale-topper, selling half interest to Trowbridge Angus, Boyd
Beef, and Myers Angus is another highlight of this year’s sale with a heifer calf pregnancy
due October 10 by Deer Valley Old Hickory and IVF heifer calf embryos by WR Journey
1X74. You will also notice that Lot 3 is a maternal sister sired by VAR Discovery 2240.
Basin Lucy 178E is well represented by Lot 4, JLM Lucy W333, as well her daughters
by Discovery and Plattemere Weigh Up K360.
The offerings by these great females are an exciting way to get on the ground floor of
the latest genetics!
Once again we are happy to have Joe Myers and Ray Apple, our friends and partners,
participating in this sale. You will appreciate the quality cattle they’re presenting this year.
