2-Day Quail Hunt: Hosted by Richard and Ruth Mann and guided by
Wayne Mann, this is a “One of a Kind” hunt that is special. In the
past 10 years, Wayne has taken only his grandsons and a few close
friends quail hunting on the beautiful Sunset Ranch in George West,
TX. Last year the average morning hunt produced about 15 covey
rises. These are all wild birds (Bob Whites, no Blues) and to our
knowledge, a pen raised bird has never been placed on the Sunset
Ranch. This will be a 2 day hunt, hunting quail from about daylight
until noon depending on weather and temperature. We would prefer
the hunt to be booked in December 2016 or January 2017, and can
be on weekends or weekdays with dates mutually acceptable to
both hunters and Wayne. As of the date of writing this description
in June, we have had record rains, seen more quail than ever in the
history of the Sunset Ranch, and are excited and hopeful for a great
summer hatch and lots of birds in the fall/winter.
