We chose lot 240 as the lead-off bull because there was really no other option. We have
felt strongly that Spartacus is going to be one of our leading sires and he has solidified
that position with two sons that we are going to sample in 2017. Lot 240 and last spring’s
standout Bieber Gladiator B386 are leading the pack. Lot 240’s dam is a maternal sister
to Makin Hay(Accelerated), Rough Rider, and Outrider(Select). There are maternal
brothers working at Green Mountain Red Angus and Bowden Red Angus as well. Lot
240 dam is in our ET program and will have other progeny coming down the road. Craig
Howard decided to expose 297Y naturally to Spartacus and got a bit of a jump early
with the first set of ET sired by Spartacus. Lot 240 is a stud and stand out phenotypically
as well as data that put him in pretty exclusive company. We will wean over 180 calves
sired by lot 240’s sire and expect that the data from those calves will have everybody
looking at Spartacus next spring. Lot 240 is a full brother to lot 264 and 289.

This Hard Drive son has an outstanding Marbling ratio of 128 and great data across the
board. His maternal brother sold last year to one of our more selective bull customers,
Shawn Claymore. His dam 236X is one of our best 368U’s daughters with a MPPA of 104.

Lot 241 comes with a very interesting pedigree. His dam is a maternal sister to
Basin Trendsetter 6074 and sired by EXAR 263C, who’s sons dominated the Express
Ranch, Angus program and daughters have dominated the production of top bulls
at Express. We used lot 241 on limited basis this past year and will have him on our
list of Hard Drive Y120 sons to sample in 2017. Lot 241 is a full brother to lot 252 and
260.
