Jack To
The Hilt
For years many tried to buy him out of Jim’s keeper pen and even more tried to get Jim to breed their
mares to him. In 2011 JIm opened the books to offer a shot at breeding to this extremely smart and athletic
son of Joe Jack Red. He has quickness, agility, top end speed, and is buckskin to boot. Hilt has masculine
structure, correctness, and is extremely tight-bred in a pedigree that Jim planned for 3 generations with
just the right blend of Two Eyed Jack family lines. From the beginning he was “Jim’s horse” and the one
he depended on when high-stakes entries were on the line. Although he could have done it, Hilt nerver had
the chance to earn a big all-around AQHA record since Jim’s plan from the beginning was for Hilt to be his
personal heel horse. When talking about him, Jim once said “Hilt’s a gamer: when situations get tight he can
run faster, stop harder and is gutty enough to handle any pressure. He was always in the right spot, I can
always trust him and have never found his limits”. An injury during the 2013 breeding season has ended his
breeding career. If you ever wanted a Hilt, 2014 is his last foal crop.
