Show-Me Futurity Plus:
Both Purebred and Balancer® heifers will have a Futurity
Class respectively at the 2015 Missouri State Fair,
sponsored by the HAGA. Futurity nominated heifers
purchased at the 2014 “Show-Me” Futurity Plus Sales are
eligible to compete in a special futurity class held at the
2015 Missouri State Fair, Sedalia, MO. This program has
been implemented to encourage the members in promoting
Gelbvieh at various shows, as well as to offer members a
chance to receive a payback for their efforts. The 2015
Futurity will offer a Balancer® Class and a Purebred Class
at the State Fair.
To be eligible:
1. Only Futurity nominated open heifers selling in the 2014
Heart of America Gelbvieh Association “Show-Me” Futurity
Sale are futurity eligible for the 2015 “Show-Me” Futurity
cash prizes. Futurity Heifers must be registered purebred or
Balancer® and must be born between September 1, 2013
and August 31, 2014.
2. The female must be titled in the Member’s name only at
the time the sale management makes the transfer and the
buyer must be a member of the Heart of America Gelbvieh
Association and the American Gelbvieh Association.
Membership can be purchased at the time of the sale. The
member of ownership must show the animal unless an
injury or illness would prevent from doing so. In such
cases, another member may show the animal with prior
approval from the HAGA Futurity Committee.
3. Futurity program year runs from the 2014 “Show-Me”
Futurity Sale until the 2015 Futurity Show. Females sold in
the sale will only have one program year of eligibility. A
new group of females will be sold at the next designated
futurity sale for the next program year.
Cash prizes are awarded for the top three placing heifers at
the Missouri State Fair.
