PITZER RANCH SALE CONSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Consignment deadlines
are
June 10th
for Fall Sale and
Jan. 10th
for Spring Sale
The following must be in our office by deadline to be considered for consignment:
(because of the huge number of horses consigned, all paperwork has to be in our office by deadline)
This will be your invitation for consignment so mark your calendar so you don’t miss the deadlines!
*
1. The
actual registration papers
(not copies and no faxes) mark gelding updates on transfer. For foals being
registered, send copy of completed registration application along with copies of sire and dam’s papers stapled to it.
*
2. A blank
signed transfer
for each horse sold: (we can complete double transfers in our office) If you don’t have one,
download off
website (click the word FORMS then TRANSFER REPORT) or contact me and I’ll get you
one.
*
3.
Footnotes:
This is what is printed about your horse in the catalog. Helpful notes include: Physical description, height,
how broke, AQHA points/winnings/accomplishments, guarantees and if a broodmare, name of stud bred to and due
date. Then list the phone number you want listed in the catalog plus your agent (if any) and their phone number.
*
4.
$175/head catalog fee
must be included (covers research, advertising, and printing catalog) Catalog fees are non-
refundable once advertising is ordered and catalog is set.
Also note that we ask our consignors to do as we believe (since it is our sale) and not take horses out of the sale once
the catalog is printed. We want buyers to know that if they drive the miles to a Pitzer sale that those horses listed will
be available. If people are calling ahead of time to buy your horse it proves that our advertising (your $175) is doing its
job and attracting buyers. Buyers unable to attend the sale can bid by phone or buy online at
.
Horse Photos due at time of consignment.
(
Fall Catalog Weanling Photos due by July 4th.)
*
5.
Photos
– Help sell your horse, especially with many absentee bidders. We prefer a high quality side view with
photographer facing towards mid-cinch area of the horse (not a distorted, big head, 3/4 front, rear, or in-between).
Performance and/or win pics are also welcome. Do not have horse looking back at the photographer, feet cocked,
or with its head down eating. Set up so sun is behind photographer’s back. Check our past catalogs, stud photos
on next page, pictures on our website, or call for more info. Have photo CD’s or emails ID’d by horse’s registered
name or sale lot #. Please
no poor quality, plain paper, or dot printer pics!
If you wouldn’t buy the horse in your
picture, take another!
Email photos to
The following is due before sale check-in
.
*
6.
Signed Breeders Certificates
– for pregnant broodmares. Make sure the name of the stallion is in the footnote
of consignment.
*
7.
Coggins
- original coggins results (yellow page) dated no further than 6 months before sale date. Every lot # horse
needs its own coggins. In the spring sale, broodmares with newly born foals only need a coggins for themselves.
Make sure our office receives your papers before the consignment deadline (earlier than that does not mean they will
sell earlier in the sale). Sale order is made by our office. Once we have accepted the maximum facility capacity of #s
there is not room for more. I hate having to turn back what would have been a qualified consignment when we have
already accepted other horses to fill the numbers.
All broke horses ridden through the ring and guaranteed unless announced,
Sale Commission 7% • No Sale Commission 3%
*
Don’t delay foal registrations. Horses not paid for until all paperwork is in my (not AQHA’s) office.
*
TO BE CONSIDERED WE MUST RECEIVE #1-5 PAPERWORK BEFORE CONSIGNMENT DEADLINE
