We changed feed rations this year on the bulls, as
you can tell by the look and condition of the bulls, we
made the
right
choice. We started the feed test with an
outstanding group of bulls with top genetics. And using
the right nutritionally balanced feed ration to enable
them to reach their full potential, we are selling the
best growing and sharpest looking set of bulls we’ve
ever offered. With Weight Gain of 3.99 lbs. per day,
over last year’s 2.72 lbs. per day, and average ribeye
size of 15.9 sq. inches this year compared to 12.7 sq.
inches last year, the proof is in the data.
This year while on test, these bulls were on the
Burkmann’s Bull Test Ration, since then, they have
been on a maintaining ration from Burkmann Feed.
Working with the Burkmann Feed Team has been a
great experience this year. Their knowledge of cattle
nutrition and feed products is top notch. Their
willingness to come out to the farm to visit and keep a
check on the bull’s progress was something we were
not accustomed to. This was our 6
th
year doing the feed
test, but the first year we have received this kind of
courteous service and attention.
