Welcome to Mountain View Ranch’s second annual sale. If you bought from
us last year, we consider it an honor and a testament to the cattle’s quality that
you have returned. If you are new to our program, we are confident you will like
what you see and that these animals can add value to your herd. We strive to
offer progressive genetics, evident by the strong presence of cattle coming out of
the Baldridge Bros. program in Nebraska. Impressive EPDs are not our sole goal,
though, because we expect our cattle to perform well not just on paper or in the
pasture, but also on the rail. Arriving at a quality end product demands good feet,
legs, and udders to get there, and we will not settle for cattle whose genotype does
not match their phenotype.
If you are wondering if the extra investment in registered cattle for your
commercial herd is worth it, we can tell you from personal experience that the
up-front investment pays its dividends. Our passion for registered Angus genet-
ics arose from the progress we saw using them in our own commercial herd. If
you, like us, have ever been chased down by a wild cow or pulled one too many
super-sized calves from pint-sized heifers, your herd could benefit from a registered
animal. If you’ve ever struggled with bad milkers, slow gainers, or poor carcass quality, the improvements being made in
Angus genetics can provide a tremendous boost to your operation.
Our goal is that we will all sit on the front porch someday, and complain about how good our kids have it: no busted
fences from cranky cows or all-night calving sessions or sore knees from milking beef cows...well, you know. I’m sure pink-
eye will still be around to keep them humble, though. We are excited to show you our cattle, and excited about continuing
to build relationships with you as we continue to build our program.
