Gus is a stunning 13-year-old line-back dun, draft-horse cross gelding standing 16.3
H with four black hooves. He weighs 1,700 lbs. and bears exquisite tiger stripes. Gus
has been at Wolverine Creek Outfitters since he was 4 years old, spending three
months every summer traveling through the wilderness with children ages 10 to 16
on summer pack trips, and packing hunters, as well as meat, 25 miles in and out
of camp throughout the fall. In addition to spending time in the mountains, Gus is
easy to harness and has become proficient at skidding timber. Gus’ handsome color,
strong conformation and diverse abilities make him an excellent all-around family
horse compatible with children, trail riders and hunters alike. He’s easy to shoe, load,
roach, haul and catch. Gus never seems to disappoint. If there is a job to do and do
well, Gus is your man. Crossing water, logs, steep and rocky terrain, being hobbled
or tied to a picket line, Gus adapts to all situations with ease and is a consummate
