Our hearts and prayers reach out to those who have suffered through the
numerous horrible natural disasters of 201 . The wide spread drought of 201
devastated most of the southeast and was the worst on record in our lifetimes,
but most of us still have part or all of our cattle, our homes are intact, and our
families are safe.
Thank goodness, we had a large amount of stored hay left over from previous
years and were able to purchase a large amount of gin trash to help carry us
through the fall and winter of 201 . -ust like all good cattlemen, we keep our
stock feed, Must may not have been Tuite the Tuality we preferred. Surprisingly,
our reproduction did not suffer. Other than one pasture group that suffered an
inMured herd sire, we had a fantastic breeding success last year. Our calf crop
suffered lower weaning weights,
but that was simply cosmetic because after
weaning in the spring and hitting the great grass of 201 , they compensated
virtually back to normal weights by yearling.
