FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I can’t come to the sale but I need a bull. Will you have some
for sale after the auction?
The two auctions we hold in November and February are the
time to purchase bulls from us. These bulls are not picked over
and the entire contemporary group that meets sale criteria is
offered for sale, with none from the group being sold prior
to auction day. There MAY be a few bulls offered privately
between the sales that were unable to sell in the auction for
various reasons, but the selection and offering is limited.
If you cannot attend the sale, we offer telephone, internet,
and absentee bidding. Just give us a call before sale day
and we will be glad to help work out the best way for you to
get the bull you need.
Are the bulls Trich tested? PI BVD tested? Fertility tested?
All bulls selling are virgin bulls. Bulls over the age of 18
months on sale day will be tested for Trichomoniasis (PCR and
culture) two weeks prior to sale day. For states with different
requirements, younger bulls can be tested prior to shipment.
Bulls are ear notch tested for persistent BVD, and will pass a
complete breeding soundness exam before sale. Our herd is
also Brucellosis certified, TB Accredited, and we participate in
the voluntary SC Johne’s Disease control program, achieving
the highest level possible in SC (JPL4).
Do you ever lease bulls?
We are not able to lease bulls for use due to herd health
considerations.
How soon will my bull be delivered?
We group bulls together by common geographical area and
prioritize delivery, based on who needs their bulls the quickest.
If for some reason you cannot accept your bulls when delivery
is scheduled in your area, you will need to make arrangements
to pick up here at the farm. It is extremely important when
you check out that you give a date you need the bull by to help
us schedule delivery appropriately. We also need your physi-
cal address and cell phone numbers. We attempt to have all
deliveries made within a few weeks of the sale.
Why don’t you offer delivery of females?
We will make every attempt to help you with arrangements for
delivery of your females. However, it is often not possible to
safely transport any females with the bull deliveries, due to
limited compartments in the trailer and the concerns of
transporting pregnant females or small calves.
If I have a problem with my purchase, what happens?
Unfortunately, with animals there are bound to be unexpected
issues. Rest assured that we sell all animals “satisfaction
guaranteed” and that if you are not satisfied for any legitimate
reason for one year following the sale, you will be due a credit,
refund, or replacement, provided the animal has been properly
cared for. However, this is not a life insurance policy and we
cannot guarantee against injury, lightning strikes, or calf mor-
tality. It is our pledge to try to keep you as a satisfied customer
and we will work with you to come to an acceptable resolution
should any problems arise.
