Welcome to our 9th Annual Fall Female and Bull Sale!
We hope that you can be with us on November 3. As most of you know, this farm’s bread and butter is producing
bulls for the commercial cattleman that will perform in the pasture and whose calves will create profit for their
owner. We believe that we have an awesome offering for you to choose from - a large group of coming two-year-
old bulls and a large group of September yearling bulls. The majority of the bulls are Angus, and there are
SimAngus, SimGenetics, Balancers and a Charolais to choose from as well. Quite a few groups of full ET brothers
sell in both sets of bulls and there are a variety of pedigree options to choose from. If you would like any assis-
tance in bull selection, feel free to contact us any time prior to the sale - bulls are our business and we will be glad
to help. We will also be glad to make arrangements to purchase your bull for you if you are unable to attend, and
would prefer not to bid over the phone or internet.
If you are searching for Angus females, you have come to the right place. The females selling are half of the equa-
tion that goes into producing these bulls. We have gone to great lengths to select an offering that includes true sale
features, donor prospects, and a solid selection of females who have worked hard here, but that are young enough
to be productive for you for years to come. The open and bred heifers are really difficult for us to part with, but we
wanted to offer some of our most current genetics and give you a chance to see the sisters to the two-year-old and
yearling bulls selling. You will not be disappointed - all the cattle pictured in the sale book, are pictured in pasture
condition, unclipped, and in their working clothes. They have not been supplemented. We work hard to select for
quiet dispositions, sound feet, and attractive udders. Simply put, buy with confidence that these females and bulls
are the right kind. If you have any problems with bulls or females, we will make it right.
Our family operation has blossomed since we moved to Ridge Spring in 1996, largely in part to the commitment
our entire family has made to this business. While both of us have done this as a team since college graduation
about 25 years ago, our children have truly grown up with this farm, and have matured into valuable team members.
As of August 2012 we are officially “empty-nesters” with Corbin, Drake and Sally all gone to college. All three
are at Clemson where Corbin is a freshman in Animal Science, Drake is working toward an Ag Economics
degree, and Sally is a senior in Ag Education. Corbin was a big help on the farm this summer and he and his
siblings continue to come home and help when they have a break from school. Drake spent a couple of months this
summer at Sitz Angus in Montana with Jim and Tammi Sitz and family. He had a great experience but decided that
snow on Memorial Day weekend is not for a southern boy like himself. Sally had a great summer internship work-
ing with the Education Team at Certified Angus Beef in Wooster, OH. This fall she is in the classroom, practice
teaching in a great ag program, while thinking about graduate school in Ag Communications somewhere following
graduation in May. We appreciate their understanding of the nature of our business and their contributions to the
farm. Our parents have also been very supportive of this venture, and the Yons, living close by, are always willing
to pitch in as “go-fers” with little to no thanks or recognition for all they do.
Our crew is more like family than employees; they work with us, not for us. The place could not function with-
out Matt Dunn, Chay Renteral, Rusty Bryant, Michelle Koon, Nestor Reyes, and Pat Harwell all doing what they
do. We also welcome our newest members to the crew, Reid Harrison and Austin Fulmer, who are Ag students at
Piedmont Tech, and look forward to their involvement. On behalf of our entire family and crew, welcome, and let
us know if we can assist you in any way.
