Dear Wann Ranch Customers and Friends,
Welcome to our 2013 sale offering. As you all know we are very fo-
cused on the commercial industry with our seed stock production. There
are no fads and no frills here. While we take great interest in what hap-
pens in purebred auctions and stock shows across the country, it doesn’t
influence us much. We have only one goal in mind and that is to produce
practical, profitable cattle for our customers. We utilize scientific data and
common cow sense to bring our annual offering to you.
Our industry lost another 860,000 cows last year to place us solidly
at 29 million cows. These are the lowest numbers since the 1950’s! With
our expanding population and strong export markets, the demand for
high quality ANGUS beef will continue to outpace production ability. Now
is the time as never before to invest in a genetic base that will carry you
forward in this industry.
You will find our offering to be gentle and easy to handle. That pays
off for you as well. No one has the time or energy to deal with difficult
cattle. We handle our cattle frequently to collect birth, weaning and
yearling weights, administer herd health injections, AI, pregnancy check
and clip sale cattle. To have an animal anywhere along the way exhibit
poor temperament just slows us down and gets in our way. Proper cattle
handling skills are just as much a part of what we do as AI is. These
cattle will behave for you.
I would like to take a moment to thank our day-to-day herdsman Cody
Stacy. Cody is involved with every aspect of our operation. Without his
day-to-day attention to detail we would not be able to function as we do.
Our sale book explains what we are about. It’s all real world backed by
science and a little sense. Buying a WR bull or female will put you in the
driver’s seat of today’s cattle industry.
