SydGen Herd Sires
The herd sires referenced on this and the next 9 pages are re-
sponsible for over 96,200 progeny in the AHIR database, of which
over 36,000 have ultrasound scans, along with over 3,900 progeny
on Australia’s Breed Plan. More than 31,000 daughters of these
sires have had calves reported on AHIR, and over 3,200 progeny
have been reported through carcass evaluation. We actually have
93
sires owned or co-owned by us on the 2012 Sire Evaluation
Report.
Most of these sires are available to you via artificial insemina-
tion, and semen can be ordered through our farm office, from
ORIgen Cattle Services, Billings, MT, and from many local
distributors, including ABS representatives, on many sires. We
have semen prices printed at the end of each footnote on sires
available directly from us, and all AI certificates are priced at $40.
If you would like to pick up semen on sale day, please let us know
in advance so we can have ample supplies.
Some of these bulls will be on display sale day. Others are at
their respective co-owners’ farms, depending on ownership of
the possession interest. All of the SydGen AI sires do see natural
service duties; we think it’s important for proper development of
the bull.

has rapidly proven himself as an exceptional outcross sire of mus-
cle, growth and performance. His sons were the hit of the 2010 Spring
Cove bull sale, where 14 yearling sons averaged $4,264 with an $8,000
top. He died unexpectedly just four days later from a hoof infection that
got into the bone tissue. We have used him on a very limited basis, but
think you will be impressed with what he has done. His daughters in
production may be his strongest asset.

CC&7, named for his two closest sires and the seven SydGen donors
in his pedigree, was the top-selling bull in our 2006 Sale at $39,000
for half interest. CC&7 had frozen high quality semen since the day he
walked into the ORIgen stud, but an injury has made semen collection
erratic for the last two years. With 5,413 progeny now on record, he
ranks in the top 1% for Docility and Milk EPDs, the top 2% for REA, and
the top 10% for YW, $W and $B. His progeny have been highly sought
after from coast to coast. Semen $35.
