Trade in your old bull for a new Sarratt
herd sire of the latest genetics and get
credit for your purchase.
$100 credit
towards your new bull!
We are implementing a program this year to help producers
capitalize on rising market prices and acquire the most current
genetics available by offering a $100 credit toward any bull
purchased in this auction.
Take your current herd sire to Brown Packing Co. in Gaffney,
SC, from Wednesday, March 7 through Friday, March 9 and
receive a voucher signed by Jim or Reid Brown to use toward the
purchase of bulls at the Sarratt auction. Present your voucher at
the check-out desk and you will receive a $100 credit toward the
purchase of any one bull purchased that day, March 10, 2012.
One voucher per bull will be issued at Brown Packing Co.
Example: If a producer takes 3 bulls to Brown Packing Co. and
receives 3 vouchers, then on March 10 this producer purchases
only 2 bulls at Sarratt Farms, that producer will receive $200 off
of his or her total. The third voucher will not be accepted and is
no longer valid.
Only breeding age bulls will qualify to receive a voucher
from Brown Packing Co. Yearling bull calves will not receive a
voucher.
The producer’s name that appears on the voucher from Brown
Packing must match the producer’s name that purchased the bull
at Sarratt Farms. Traded vouchers will not be accepted.
This program applies to bulls only. Vouchers will NOT be
accepted for purchase of females sale day.
We hope this program will allow producers to take advantage
of a strong cattle market while at the same time upgrading
their genetics to become more competitive in the future. We
encourage any producer who chooses to participate in this
program to drop their bulls at Brown Packing and stop by Sarratt
Farms, visit with us, and view the cattle to be sold on March 10.
Producers will be allowed to drop their trailers here at the farm
and hook up again on sale day to receive an additional $50 off
the total purchase price for picking up your animals on sale day.
If you have any questions regarding this program please call
Cody Bright at (864) 706-0697.
Remember, free trucking on bulls to buyers in South Carolina,
North Carolina, and Georgia.
$50 off purchase price if you pick up your bull sale day!
How the Bulls were handled
These bulls were weaned and started on a high roughage
ration and fed 3% of their body weight and grown until
yearling. During the bull test the ration components do
not change. We only increase the amount fed per head as
they increase in weight. Once the bull test is completed,
bulls are evaluated and low performing bulls are culled.
Their feeding rate changes to 2.5% of their body weight
and they maintain that level up to sale day. At this point
potential sale bulls are tested for PI BVD, and Johne's. Two
week prior to the sale, all bulls
are revaccinated, dewormed and
given a Breeding Soundness Exam.
