Dear Friends,
This sale is a great opportunity for me to take part in an
event that has so many good cattle. There are a lot of good
herds in Illinois that have achieved well-deserved prominence
over the years and the Rudow herd has joined that circle with
a great set of heifers and bulls. The recent success of my
program and many in my area has been enhanced with the addi-
tion of Rudow bulls. The ease of conditioning and consistency of
quality have been clear to everyone who has looked at my calves.
With feed costs high and the need for efficiency never more
important, having cattle around that look good without being fat
on corn is necessary. When Bill and Nancy first discussed the sale
and said they would not be feeding heavier to prepare for the
sale it made me a little nervous but the truth is they were
correct. Cattle that cannot convert efficiently cost too much to
maintain and often do not breed on schedule.
My family is a fifth generation on the same ground, and cattle
have always been a part of the operation. All six children have
grown up showing in 4-H, baling and appreciating a life with
cattle. It is a gift to have a chance to raise cattle and we hope
you join the Minnis and Rudow families on April 7th.
