Dams of Distinction Cow Herd
Dams of Distinction
The Rausch cows did it again! For the
past 32 years, Rausch Herefords has
had the highest number of cows on the
Hereford breed’s TPR Most Efficient
Cow List and Dams of Distinction
List.
“These are the
most efficient cows
in the Hereford breed,”
said Craig Huffhines,
AHA’s Executive Secretary.
The cow must do her job, but also her owner
must manage the herd correctly to give her the
opportunity to excel. Only a small portion of
active cows is recognized. All heifers have the
potential of being a Dam of Distinction, but only
a small percentage fit the job description of an
ideal cow year in and year out.
