HERD HEALTH
All cattle have been on a comprehensive vaccination program
and will have interstate health papers required for shipping into
other sections of the United States. All Animals have received
Bovi-Shield Gold FP5VL5HB, Virashield L6 (fall breds), a shot
of MultiMin and Dectomax Pour-On and have been tested for
PI BVD. Herd Veterinarian is Clint Gardner, D.V.M., Pryor,
Okla. (918) 825-1717.
BULL DEVELOPMENT - Nutrition
Bulls are developed on a 160-acre grass trap. They are fed 3%
of their body weight with the total ration formulated by Great
Plains Livestock Consultants consisting of ground grass hay, wet
corn gluten, soyhull pellets and mineral. They are offered free
choice grass hay.
TRUCKING
We are offering free delivery of bulls within a 250-mile radius
of the ranch, or pick up your bull sale day and receive a $50
discount. Trucks will be available for hire sale day. Let us know
if you need assistance with your trucking arrangements.
REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES
All bulls will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense.
Each buyer must be sure to give the clerk the proper name and
address for making transfers. Registered females, as noted, will
sell with optional registration papers ($35/registration). The
commercial females sell without registration certificates.
GUARANTEE AND INSURANCE
All bulls sell fully guaranteed under Terms and Conditions
of the American Angus Association. All bulls sell with a 90-
day breeding guarantee. Insurance for your purchases will be
available sale day at the clerk’s desk.

Expected Progeny Difference (EPD)
, is the prediction of how future progeny
of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other animals
listed in the database. EPDs are expressed in units of measure for the trait, plus
or minus. Interim EPDs may appear on young animals when their performance
has yet to be incorporated into the American Angus Association National Cattle
Evaluation (NCE) procedures. This EPD will be preceded by an “I”, and may
or may not include the animal’s own performance record for a particular trait,
depending on its availability, appropriate contemporary grouping, or data edits
needed for NCE.
Calving Ease Direct (CED)
, is expressed as a difference in percentage of
unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first-calf
heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be
born when he is bred to first-calf heifers.
