Premium Sourced Cattle Annual Bull Sale
Welcome to the First Annual Premium Sourced Cattle
Bull and Commercial Female Sale!
Premium Sourced Cattle is a new innovative company owned
by Roger Tuell, Trevor Tuell, and Billy Hall. The goal of Premium
Sourced Cattle, LLC is to build long-term relationships with
progressive producers and help them maximize the genetic potential
of their cattle. Sustainable long term profitability begins and ends
with the right genetics and the ability to think outside the box
as a progressive producer. PSC is involved in every aspect of beef
production, from genetics to our feedlots and from procurement,
to clearing of harvest ready cattle. With our genetics and distinctive
programs, we can help connect you to long-term profitability. PSC
would like to thank Labatt Food Service for their innovative beef
initiatives, as well as Chappell Feedlot, LLC, Tuelland, Inc. Feedlot,
and 4 Daughters Feedlot for all their hard work and special efforts
that help producers maximize earnings. Now, enough introduction
of PSC, let’s talk about the sale offering!
Volume groups of PROVEN sires and cow families will be
represented throughout this offering. Powerful SimAngus™, Angus,
and Irish Whiskey Angus herd bull candidates will be offered for
your appraisal. Proven sires like Upgrade, GW Pacesetter 480W,
Connealy Consensus 7229, Special Focus, and yes, 23 Irish
Whiskey direct sons out of proven registered Angus donor cows will
be for sale. Many half-bloods, three-quarter bloods, and flush-mate
brothers will be offered. Over 80% of the bull offering will be
2011 fall born bulls purposely made and held for our first annual
sale. ALL of the spring yearling bulls in the sale were born prior to
March 1. Our goal is to purchase feeder cattle back from the bulls
we raise and sell, or partner with producers or offer you retained
ownership of your cattle in our feedlots. We believe that these
genetics will not only create great mama cows, but that the cattle
will excel through the feedyard. Every bull in this offering is a bull
we would purchase and use ourselves, or they simply would not be
in our sale, PERIOD! The fall born bulls were developed on a high-
roughage, forage-based silage diet with minimum added starches.
After yearling weights and ultrasound data were collected, the bulls
were turned out on a corn circle to exercise and just be bulls for
a while. On February 20, 2013 the bulls were brought back in,
resorted into breed and sire groups to be videoed, semen tested, and
revaccinated. The spring yearling bulls demonstrate a tremendous
amount of eye appeal, performance, and that herd bull look we all
strive for. Rest assured this is a powerful set of yearling bulls that
will sire the “KEEPIN” kind of cattle and offer some elite breed-
leading SimAngus™ genetics.
Simply put, the commercial females are the hard-to-find “KIND”
we all look for. Lots 200 are spring calving SimAngus™ two-year-
olds that will sell in groups of five and be sorted into bull-calf pairs
and heifer-calf pairs. The calves are all sired by Schiefelbein Effective
61: a Genex promoted, Angus, calving-ease and performance
specialist. The first calves on the ground are all coming unassisted
and have the great look we have been expecting. Effective has been
used extensively in our programs and will continue to be utilized in
the future. Take a few minutes to do the math, study the numbers
and sample him, we don’t excite easily, but Effective is right on
target. All the pre-breeding shots will be given and the females will
be ready for breeding. Performance and carcass data on the steer
littermates from 2012 is available as these were fed at Tuelland Inc.
and exceeded our expectations.
Lots 300, the commercial fall calving Angus bred heifers are the
kind that just aren’t for sale. They were AI bred to Schiefelbein
Effective 61 and cleaned up for 45 days by GCC Total Recall sons.
These heifers will sell in groups of five based on if they are either
AI bred or bull bred. They will have all their spring work done and
be ready to go make an honest living. The steer mates to these were
fed at Tuelland, Inc. as calf feds, and they graded over 90% choice
and weighed 1300 lbs. A special NOTE: All the commercial females
will be lot-tagged, sorted into groups of five, and on display starting
March 11, 2013. ONLY a representative lot will come in the sale
ring on sale day.
Maybe saving the best for last, Lot 400 and 401 are “SEASONED”
ranch geldings that are honest and can do any job around here with
ease. They respond with a willing attitude that will be sure to satisfy,
but you can count on them to be gentle enough for an experienced
youth.
In closing, we would like to thank all the people that have helped
make our annual PSC Sale possible. In particular, we’d like to
thank Ryan Horton of Tuelland, Inc. for all his years of hard work,
diligence, and expertise, and especially for a job well done building
the sale facilities. In addition, we’d like to thank Rocky Horton for
his time also. We couldn’t have done it without you both.
If we or any member of the sale staff can be of any assistance,
please don’t hesitate to call.
We look forward to seeing you on March 25, 2013!
Sincerely,
Billy Hall, Roger & Trevor Tuell
