Greetings Hereford friends, supporters and enthusiasts,
Welcome to another year of our annual Pride of the Pasture Sale, where we offer a select group of high
quality Hereford production cattle. What a year 2012 has been… since we all have the weather on our mind,
I’ll start with that. For those of you that have not seen the Plum River flowing through our farm, it typically
measures anywhere from 10 feet to 30 feet wide and carries a great deal of water to the Mississippi River. “Too wide
to clear on a running jump without getting wet.” Well… about mid-August it stopped flowing and as I write this on
October 1st, it is still not flowing. At the farm in Pearl City, Ill., we have received only four inches of rain since May 1.
While this was devastating for the crops and hard on the herd, the cattle have managed to perform and raise their calves. The
good news is that this year was our best breeding season ever. You will find that nearly every cow in our offering is safe AI to some
of the hottest bulls in the breed. This should excite you as the buyer. This is a testament to the durability and efficiency of the Hereford
breed. There is no better time than now to be entering the beef industry or building your current herd.
We were honored to host over 100 visitors for the Certified Hereford Beef® steak dinner during the Wisconsin Hereford Tour in late
September. The comments and thank yous were very meaningful and we hope that everyone who attended truly had a great time.
On the show front, we had another successful season. We only took two heifers to Junior Nationals and had a class winner. Madison won
Supreme Champion Female at the Green County Fair. At the Wisconsin State Fair, we were honored to exhibit the Champion Hereford Bull with LCC
N Du Time ET, a division champion bull with PRR All Inclusive 26Y who sold last year to Rusty R Cattle and Reserve Champion Cow-Calf Pair with
PRR Hugs and Kisses and her bull calf PRR Matchmaker Z48. In the end, we garnered enough total points to win Premier Exhibitor. The highlight of the
year was showing in the supreme drive at the World Beef Expo and winning Cow-Calf Champion with Hugs and Kisses and her bull calf Matchmaker.
We cherish these times when we can get together at shows and sales to talk with friends, look at good cattle and see the kids grow. We look forward to seeing
each of you at this year’s Pride of the Pasture event. We welcome back our friends, the Lambs and the Friedrichs, who have again committed to bring the pride of their
pastures. You are certain to find an excellent offering of tried and true genetics with a splash of the new and exciting. Please contact us for more information on any of the
lots in the sale. Any picture or video updates that we capture as we approach the sale can be found on our website,
See you on November 10th.
Sincerely,

Hi Folks,
What a time to be in the Hereford cattle business! These cattle remain in big demand and the
future of our breed looks tremendous for all of us. We are extremely excited and proud of this year’s offering!
Our program now consists of about 175 cows in western Wisconsin. As always, we have been asked to bring quality cattle from the heart
of our program and that is exactly what we are doing again! The offering consists of a group of heifer calves that will show and go on to be front
pasture cows down the road. We had over 70 bulls calves to choose from and we’re bringing our best two. We are also bringing a very high
quality group of bred heifers that I can’t wait to see in production as well as an excellent set of young cows that can just flat get it done! I was
told a long time ago to offer the good ones and it should hurt a little. Well, our loss is your gain! These cattle speak for themselves.
You can buy them with confidence.
2012
has been another exciting year around here. Our partnership on the Kamikaze bull remains a game changer for us and his calves are
more than I would have ever hoped! His stock has been getting attention all over the country. The buzz and excitement on the Tebow bull with
our new partners has everyone talkin’! I think Tebow is big-time good and I can’t wait to watch him progress in the months/years to come.
It is our intention to put our Victory bull on a bigger platform and get him collected so we may offer semen on him. I’ve always liked his
calves, but I’m in love with his daughters in production. We have added Groundwork to our heifer bull pen and are extremely excited about
that move. Bulls like Kahuna, Shock Wave and Long Drive will be heavily used in years to come and we thank our partners on those bulls
for the opportunity.
As always, I want to thank our many friends and partners in this business. Your support and encouragement over the years have meant
more to me than you will ever know. There are way too many of you to mention, but you know who you are. The common bond with all of
you is that your family means more to you than anything else.
I don’t have the words to thank Lance for all he does and has done. His quiet leadership is exactly what the doctor ordered and I couldn’t
be prouder of him. Managing cattle, crops and people isn’t very easy! His friendship and insight mean a bunch to me. I want to thank Ben
and his family for all the help and their love of the cattle. I also want to thank Jared for gutting out our tough Wisconsin winters. His patience
always amazes me. I want to thank Mom and Dad for always being around for me. I can’t begin to tell you all what they mean to me.
Lastly, thank you to Jes, Ally and Cade for allowing me to always follow my dreams. The sacrifices they have made for me are not
measured but are very much appreciated. Watching these two kids grow just keeps getting better and Jes keeps us all together every day.
I am truly blessed.
We look forward to seeing you all on the 10th of November in Freeport. If you need help with travel or transportation or you have
questions on cattle, holler any time.
Thank you for sharing with me your most precious commodity… your time.
May God Bless you and yours,
Andy
