Welcome to Ludvigson Stock Farms Second Fall Edition Herdbuilder Bull Sale. This is our second of-
fering of coming 2 year old bulls and we believe one of the most uniform offerings of bulls ever at LSF.
As we continue to expand our operation in Montana, we are able to offer herd bulls and range bulls in
an ever increasing volume. Large sire groups and selection is what we have been trying to accomplish
and this group of bulls provides any size operation many choices.
This has been one of the most unique years to say the least and I think we all can agree that we have
been presented with challenges this year due to lack of moisture and one of the warmest years on
record. During these trying times we have identified the sire lines that continue to compete and per-
severe no matter what obstacles have been thrown their way. We have been placing more emphasis
on the “middle” traits of heifer pregnancy, maintenance energy, calving ease maternal and stayability
and we believe that we were able to get through this year incredibly well. These cow herd building
traits is what will take us forward in the future as well as our customers.
The group of bulls that we are offering excel for calving ease, growth, maternal and carcass. We have
large sire groups for those that are trying to put half brothers together for their breeding program. The
P707 and Venture sons offer calving ease and maternal while at the same have very acceptable growth
and carcass. The Packer and Contender sons have great growth and carcass as well as very acceptable
calving ease and maternal. The bulls from end to end offer some of the best balanced genetics in the
offering today. Also those that would like to add a little “continental” have a look at the Red Hybred
bulls at the end of the lineup.
The bulls once again have been developed at the Big Sky Development Center. The bulls have been
fed a high roughage ration that allows the bulls to express their genetic potential and at the same time
provide an excellent condition for turnout. Our bulls are developed to adapt to any environment or
management program and you can feel rest assured that a “LSF” bull will hit the ground running at
your operation. Our bulls annually go into some of the “toughest” environments in the U.S. and are
extremely productive.
With all of the trials and tribulations that everyone has experienced in the last year it would be really
easy to be “down in the mouth” but we are experiencing record prices for feeder cattle and the future
continues to look favorably on the cow calf segment. We are extremely excited about the future of the
beef industry and it looks like the cow calf producer is in the driver’s seat. We are all in for a very good
ride.
If we can be of assistance to you in making reservations or travel plans, please feel free to contact us.
The sale headquarters again will be the Hampton Inn and Suites located just off I-94 at the Zoo Drive
exit on the west end of Billings. We will host a Cattlemen’s Seminar, hospitality hour and dinner the
night before the sale at the headquarters and we would like to invite everyone to join us. We look for-
ward to seeing you on November 14th and 15th.
