Keller Broken Heart Ranch - 3
Dear Friends and Fellow Cattlemen,
We are grateful to our repeat and past
customers for your support of our breeding
program. We’d like to invite you all to join us
for lunch and attend our upcoming 16th annual
production sale on March 11th at Kist Livestock
in Mandan.
We are offering a set of high performing bulls
and heifers. There was little to no rain after
the 4th of July. We took time to tear down
our feedlot this summer and rebuild it, so
the calves were weaned later than normal. That lowered the
adjusted weaning weights; however, the adjusted yearling weights and
ADGs are higher due to the short feeding test period. Despite numbers, the
actual compensatory gain the cattle exhibited has been amazing this year.
We fed the bulls and the heifers the same basic ration we always have and
they had no creep feed while on pasture.
We ultrasound the bulls close to sale day, so results will be as accurate as
possible. The results will be posted on our website (kbhrsimmental.com) before the sale. The catalog
and the pictures of the bulls and some of the heifers are also on the website.
You’re invited to stop by the ranch and view the cattle anytime. The cattle may not be as clean as they
are on sale day, but it’s good for you to see them move and walk around in their normal environment
also. We enjoy and appreciate the opportunity to go through the bulls and heifers with you and answer
questions about their pedigrees.
The genetics we select for use in our herd are intended to meet the demands in the feedlot and help
your operation prosper long term. By all indications, the future is going to be good and strong for the
cattle industry. If you are looking for replacement heifers or you’re adding some additional females to
your herd, we’re bringing an extremely even and quality set of heifers to the sale
Again, thank you for your time and your support. Call if you have any questions. We always look forward
to seeing you!
