The thought process and organization behind
GENETRUST was first discussed in the fall of 2008.
A commitment to implement this unique marketing
alliance was signed off on by 10 progressive Brangus
breeders in the summer of 2009 and we held our first sale
in the fall of 2009 at Chimney Rock Cattle Co. We have,
through that time period, adjusted our management and
organization to better serve our customers and to be able
to effectively develop and market a growing number of
animals.
GENETRUST has not changed in its commitment
to focus its breeding programs on what is relevant
for today’s market with a forward leaning attitude as
to what is relevant for the future benefit of the cattle
industry both domestically and internationally. Although
GENETRUST is relatively new, the programs behind
it have all exceeded the average life expectancy of a
purebred breeder and all share a great passion and
desire to breed cattle that will benefit our customers
through operations that are sustainable and profitable for
generations to come.
The last two years, with a large part of the US
suffering from major drought and some areas that have
suffered from this for multiple years, it has really driven
home to GENETRUST the importance of Brangus cattle
to the beef cattle industry and their unquestionable place
in the future of this industry.
As we travel and visit our customers, they give
us testimonies to the fact that as conditions get tough
their Brangus influenced progeny rise to an even higher
level in their domination of other breeds. In northern
Missouri, a fellow breeder was totally enthusiastic about
how much better his Brangus cows had done through the
Performance Genetics.
