Welcome fellow cattlemen and cattlewomen to our 34nd annual Simmental production sale. We
would like to invite you to attend and analyze our offering. Whether your operation needs a calv-
ing ease and maternal or a high growth terminal carcass sire, you will find high quality at a reason-
able price. Again this year’s offering again has a very strong selection of ½ bloods, with some ¼
bloods, both red and black. Many are sired by the most popular sires of the Angus and Red Angus
breeds.
Remember that all bulls selling are guaranteed against injury, not death for the first 60 days
from turn out. We will pro-rate your credit minus the bulls salvage value for credit only on your
next purchase. You need to let us know about the injury as soon as possible so we can decide appropriate
action for the bull’s wellbeing. Death coverage is available on your farm policy, that’s how we do it. Also
all cattle sell according to ASA’s suggested terms and conditions; ask for a copy if you need one.
We will have a supplement sheet available sale day with all the latest data including carcass ultrasound
and carcass EPDs. Please remember that EPDs are the most accurate predictor of both performance and
carcass traits, as their ratios as well as all of their relatives ratios are factored into them. If you have any
questions about how to use the numbers, please call and I will do my best to help you.
We are still feeding out and collecting carcass data on our culls. We feel that this information is very
important for the integrity of our carcass EPDs. Recently we have been selling on ASA’s 70:70 grid with
good results. ASA also has good feeder calf EID tag program for age and source verifying your calves, if
you are interested let me know and I can get you in touch with the right people to help you. Last year we
sold a load with the following performance: Carcass wt. 756, Dressing % 63.1%, 86% Choice and Prime,
84% Yield grade 1&2’s with 0% Yield grade 4&5’s.
As always, the sale offering is available for your inspection any time. Also if you like you can tour the
cow herd and herd sires to see how we manage our cow herd. Our cows graze nearly year-round, and are
not pampered. If you have any questions or need any help with your selections, please call and or stop
by, we will do our best to help however we can. We thank you for your interest in our program and look
forward to seeing you sale day, if not before.
