The RangeFire Composite is the
registered trademark for the Red
Angus x Charolais highbred uti-
lized by Silver Spur Ranches in our
planned, strategic cross breeding
program. We utilize this Compos-
ite to build and maintain heterosis
(highbred vigor) in our production commercial cow herd as well as our
terminal feeder calves. The bulls selling here in the Cross Diamond
sale are Half Bloods. We really appreciate the soundness, easy fleshing
and capacity and the carcass quality that the Red Angus component
brings when crossed on the growth and cut-ability of the Charolais.
Silver Spur maintains a herd of Half Blood, Three Quarter and Seven
Eights Red Angus x Charolais RangeFire composite seed stock cows in
Kiowa Colorado. We utilize approximately 100 to 125 RangeFire bulls
annually across our commercial cow herd inWyoming, Colorado, Ne-
braska and New Mexico. We trust you will find these bulls a benefit
to your operation.

Dahlgren Ranch
I’mTyler Dahlgren and in the fall of
2012 I founded the Dahlgren Ranch. I
would like to thank Cross Diamond for
the opportunity to consign my bulls on
their sale.
The focus of my operation is to pro-
duce low maintenance genetics that can
produce in any environment. With the
majority of a ranches expense being feed cost, the obvious path to increased
profitability is to run cattle that can do more with less. In the seed stock
business, I believe it is extremely important to run cattle in a way that forces
all of the cattle to produce on what they are given, and if a cow doesn’t do
what is expected of her she has to go. We really force our heifer calves to
produce on a low quality forage, and if those heifers don’t come off corn
stalks or winter range in the kind of shape we expect, they fall out. We
choose that first winter to push those cattle so we can cull the outliers before
they ever see bulls.
All of my bulls on this sale were born in March and April. I have since
moved my calving date back to May and June. My bulls spent the summer
on grass and ran right alongside Cross Diamond’s. I am very happy with
how they look this fall and am excited to see them develop at the home
ranch.
The transition to running my own operation has had its challenges but I
am extremely excited to get to this point and excited to see what the future
holds. My 2015 calf crop is out of all Cross Diamond bulls and I am very
pleased with how they look at this point.
Being able to sell bulls on this sale is a dream come true for me. I have
grown up around the Cross Diamond operation and have a lot of respect for
Scott and Kim and the way they run their operation. . Being from Bertrand
as well, they have been a great resource for me and have really gone out of
their way to help me get started in the cattle business I am very grateful for
the opportunity and very excited to be working with such great people.
