Welcome to the 26th SERAA Grasstime Auction
The Southeast Red Angus Association’s Grasstime Auction is one of the longest
running consignment sales in the breed and certainly one of the highlights of the year
in the Red Angus world. The 2017 Grasstime offers diversity of cattle and commitment
by consignors to continually make this one of the leading Red Angus events in the
region. If you are looking for registered open show heifers, bred females, cow calf
pairs, bulls, semen or embryos be sure and study this catalog. The Grasstime Auction
also offers an elite set of commercial heifers as Lots 114 - 125.
The Red Angus breed has made major strides the past five years in gaining huge
market share in the beef industry. If you have never experienced Red Angus genetics
in your beef operation, I can attest to the satisfaction first time “users” have had with
Red Angus cattle. From their calm, quiet disposition to their highly maternal traits, you
will appreciate the convenience that Red Angus cows can offer your beef program.
The calving ease, rapid growth and high IMF opportunities offerred by the Red Angus
bull also makes them a great choice to use in your operation. Red Angus combine
and cross well with all breeds of beef cattle and actually increase the value of their
progeny used on other breeds of cattle. Another positive reason to use registered
Red Angus bulls is the opportunity to tag the resulting progeny with value added
RAAA tags and join in the benefits these marketing programs can offer your
opperation. In short, the benefits that Red Angus genetics can offer your beef herd
are enormous.
It is truly an honor for me to be serving the Southeast Red Angus Association for
the 25th time (I missed year 1) as sale manager and auctioneer of the Grasstime
Auction. From the Friday night banquet and fundraising auction to the Saturday main
event, the weekend of March 31 through April 1st is a “must attend event” if you are a
Red Angus enthusiast. I encourage you to call the consignors or myself with any
questions you may have about the cattle selling in this offering. If you cannot attend
the auction, please tune in via DVAuction and bid online. If you need any assistance in
the selection of cattle, please feel free to call me or any of the listed ringmen/buyer
representatives. We will treat your bids in complete confidence and can assist you
with trucking arrangements after the sale.
We look forward to seeing you March 31 and April 1 in Cullman, Alabama!
Best Regards,
Kyle and Lisa Gilchrist
