TABLE OF CONTENTS
Welcome to the Damar Farms Last Dance Dispersal Sale!
The 2017 Damar Farms Dispersal will be the largest female
auction to ever happen in the Red Angus breed. With over 690
Red Angus females (many with either a calf at side or soon to be
a cow-calf pair), this event will offer more registered Red Angus
cattle than any other in the history of the breed.
When Doc called and said he was going to disperse his cattle
enterprise, my first thoughts were how much of an impact he has
had on the Red Angus breed. Many donor cows have originated
from the Damar pastures and have gone on to influence major
programs across the North American continent. As well, many
junior members got their start with Damar genetics and have
literally shown Dr. Dave Hehli’s bulls and heifers from Reno,
Nevada, to Fort Worth, Texas, to the Minnesota State Fair to
the North Carolina State Fair and everywhere in between. Most
importantly, the females that produced these show-winning
cattle are selling in this “Last Dance” Dispersal. The impact
this program has had on the industry pales in comparison to
what it will have in the coming decades. As these phenomenal
Red Angus cattle scatter to new owners on February 11th and
12th, a new era will dawn in the Red Angus world. For years to
come, the influence that the Damar genetics offer the industry is
unmeasurable.
With only 53 days’ notice, we have tried to present as much
information as we can in this catalog and will have more
information available on a supplement prior to the sale – watch
our website at
. We would like to thank Doc
and Mary, Mitch, Denise, Margie, Karla and Tracey Koester (Cow
Camp Promotions) for their dedication in getting this catalog in
your hands.
The Damar Farms “Last Dance” Dispersal will be more than a
Red Angus auction – it will be a social and history-making event.
On Friday night there will be an open bar and cowboy social at
the sale headquarters hotel, and Saturday night there will be a
“Last Dance” party with Mickey Lynnes and the Thundermen
band and it will be a great time to socialize and celebrate with
some of the greatest cattle producers in the business.
Nowhere in recent history have you had the opportunity to
purchase top-quality cattle in volumes like this event offers.
February 11th and 12th should not only be on your calendar to
upgrade your current Red Angus and Simmental program but to
find that special donor cow to take you to the next level. With the
size of this complete dispersal, there will no doubt be great buys
throughout the auction.
If you cannot attend the sale, please tune in via DVAuction.
The cattle have all been videoed and will be available on the
DVAuction website during the month of February for your review
and study. We also have five very capable consultants/buyer
representatives available to look at cattle and handle your bids if
you cannot make it to Eau Claire on February 11th and 12th.
We thank you for your interest in this history-making event and
are available to answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to seeing you February 11th and 12th!
