Welcome to our 11th annual production sale. We’ve been in the Angus business for over forty years and we’re
proud to say that our grandkids will be the third generation that are starting to show Angus. We strive for high per-
formance cattle but also want them to look good!
Our goal at Brand Angus is to provide you with cattle that can produce as much pro tability as possible. Bearing
that in mind remember that we can provide you with a high end natural marketing program for either feeder calves
or nished cattle--the premiums are signi cant. Last summer a neighbor sold fats to a local sales barn the same day
we did. ey were Angus and were within a few pounds of ours. He received $94/cwt and through our program we
received $125/cwt. Some seedstock producers will tell you to not worry about carcass data because it’s only about the
pounds that you sell. Well, that’s not true because someone will feed them out, someone will eat them and someone
will collect the premiums--make sure it’s you! rough the third quarter of 2016, carcass cutout values showed a $35/
cwt advantage for prime over select. If your seedstock supplier is not feeding and marketing some of his cattle on the
rail you have to wonder. About 50% of our male calves are sold as bulls, whereas, the rest are fed a natural program
so we know how they feed, gain and hang on the grid. We know they will go 95-100% CAB and over 60% primes.
For the past 10 years we’ve been sending bulls to the Midland Bull Test in Montana to see how they compare to
other Angus breeders. e rst report for this year has come out and of the 750 Angus bulls on test we had 2 in the
