Procedure on transit aniMals:
All sheep in transit on the Preble
County Fairgrounds will be held in accordance to all Big Ohio Sale rules.
Both USDA and Ohio State Veterinarian staff will be on the grounds to
inspect sheep and their health papers in all trailers and those housed in the
horse stalls. All delivery sheep must have permanent I.D., display proper
scrapie tags and state final destination on their paperwork.
All horse stalls will be locked with a Big Ohio padlock. Keys can be
“checked out” for use of holding transit sheep. Horse stall rent is $50
plus a $10 refundable key deposit. Contact Preble County staff on
Monday or Tuesday, or contact Sam Wiford or Tyler Lobdell of Banner
Sale Management staff Wednesday through the weekend. Stalls may
also be reserved by calling sale management at 309/785-5058 before
Monday, May 8.
